SSL Detention Issue

We have installed X-theme running on AWS and have an SSL Certificate and the certificate is deployed.

We are running WooCommerce as provided by X-theme.

When typing in the URL to our site, it appears that the SSL (https:) is not being recognized and we are receiving this error from Real Simple SSL.

A definition of a siteurl or homeurl was detected in your wp-config.php, but the file is not writable.

Set your wp-config.php to writable and reload this page.

Can you provide some feedback on how we connect the x-theme site to recognize the SSL Certificate.

Thanks,

Hi Grant,

Thanks for reaching out.

It appears to be related to your hosting provider and they not allowed editing that file. Your Real Simple SSL plugin is trying to edit it for HTTPS configuration but it can’t. I recommend contacting your hosting provider about the issue, or they may edit it for you and tell them it requires HTTPS enabled URL for siteURL and homeURL in wp-config.php. It’s Wordpress setting and not related the theme.

Thanks!

Thanks, we host on AWS and they are not helpful when coming to things like this.

Do you know if we are able to access Wordpress settings directly ourselves through AWS.

Thanks.

Hi Grant,

Unfortunately, it’s not accessible anywhere in Admin. It can only be edited through FTP (if they allow it), please check this about the FTP https://www.wired.com/2010/02/ftp_for_beginners/. And you will still need information from your hosting provider regarding the FTP credentials. It still best contacting them about the issue since they have direct access to it.

Thanks!
