SSL Certificate HELP

So I downloaded the free SSL from Wordpress and no matter what I do to activate it breaks my site. Can someone please show me a simple way to get my whole site covered by SSL? This is becoming EXTREMELY frustrating and I just want a simple way to do it.

Hi there,

You will have to contact your hosting to have the SSL of your site setup. Once the SSL certificate is setup, you can then update all the URLs of your site from http to https.

Please make sure all URLs that reference to your site are updated to https. You can do this by using the Better Search Replace plugin.

Search for:

http://example.com then replace it with https://example.com and
http:\/\/example.com then replace it with https:\/\/example.com

Change example.com to your domain name.

Please make sure to backup your database before you make any changes.

Hope this helps.

What is the best way to backup the site prior? Is there a plugin?

I just changed my URL to secure (I use host gator to host the site). When I changed it shit started to hit the fan and different parts of the site started to break. Can someone that uses HostGator please let me know what I need to do here? Or if someone here can help point me in the right direction it is getting mind bogglingly annoying to fix this site all the time but I want it to be secure as well.

Hi,

Is this your site https://pcsportscards.com ?

I checked and it seems to work fine and shows as secure.

Try to clear your browser cache and plugin cache then check again.

Hope this helps.
