Split a section 50/50

I’m trying to create a section which is a split row of half colour (with content) and half image. Then the next row would be reversed so the first half would be image and the second half would be colour (with content).

I have it pretty close by removing global containers and adding the content, including background images. However, how can I fix the padding so it is “auto” like the section above and remains in line with that section’s text regardless of the width of the browser window?

Removing the global containers on a section, you cannot have the same padding from the normal section. It will require a lot of custom coding which is beyond the scope of our theme support.

My question is, why did you remove the Global Containers? If you could explain further with your goal, we can help you to implement a better solution to your current issue.
