Social media icons on the right sidebar and after each blog post

Hello! I’m trying to put some social media icons with Facebook, Instagram and Email on the right sidebar and Like, Share on Facebook, Share on Twitter buttons after each blog post.
The previous plugin i was using was really buggy and slowed down the website and the code i’ve found while browsing the forum doesn’t work for some reason (the functions sheet doesn’t update when i paste that code).
Could you tell me how to proceed? Is there any code i should put, or maybe it’s better to use a certain plugin?
Thank you in advance!

Hello @CristianD,

Thanks for writing in!

I would recommend that you use a 3rd party plugin. One of the plugins here might help you:

Or you can simply create a Global Block in Pro > Global Blocks and insert the new Icon element. Line them up and make sure to add a link to it. You can then, insert the Global Block shortcode in a text widget in your sidebar to display the social icons.

For like and share on Facebook or Twitter at the end of each blog posts, simply check this thread:

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you @RueNel! I’ve chosen two plugins, one for sharing the posts (Social Pug) and one to display the social networks (Lightweight Social Icons). Do you think these two will slow down the site in any way?
I’ve tried finding the most light plugins. I’ve tested the website on Pingdom and it says i have to make fewer http requests (i have a grade F - 44) and to add Expires Headers. Do you think these could be caused by the two recently installed plugins?
Have a great day!

Hey @CristianD,

We can’t comment for third-party plugins as we have not tested them and it’s outside the scope of our product support. Generally, though, the more plugins you have, the more stuff will be loaded in the front-end. There are optimization solutions to that but again, it’s beyond the scope of our support. You’ll need to consult with a third-party developer for this.

Thank you for understanding.
