Social element missing alt text option

Hello,

I needed to add alternative (alt) text to some social icons in my footer in Cornerstone and don’t see an option to do that outside of custom code. I found an older thread from 2018 mentioning this, but seems it was never addressed.

Per current a11y guidelines:
decorative icons do not need alt text , but informative icons and icons as controls (buttons, links) do need accessible names or labels to be WCAG 2.1 compliant.
Are there any plans to add alt text input to the social element or other elements with icons like there is for images?
