Hi,
I’ve experienced this with quite a few sites already: shortcodes that don’t work in the nav menu. There are work arounds and custom solutions to show social icons instead, but I’d like to use the short codes provided.
Kind regards,
Marleen

Hello Marleen,
Thanks for writing in!
You can refer following tutorial to add social icons in navigation bar. http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-social-media-icons-to-wordpress-menus/
Thanks.
Hi Prasant,
Thanks for your response.
Do I really need to add a plugin (according to video…) to add the social buttons? Never happened before…
They are actually already in the menu, only invisible, see blank space.
Kind regards,
Marleen
Hi There,
Please replace the current icon with this:
<i class="x-icon x-icon-instagram" data-x-icon="" aria-hidden="true"></i>
Hope it helps
Thanks a lot! That helps for the insta button. Not for the linkedin button. Only replacing instagram by ‘linkedin’ won’t work. Is that right?
Hi again,
For the LinkedIn icon you can use the following code:
<i class="x-icon x-icon-linkedin-square" data-x-icon="" aria-hidden="true"></i>
Hope this helps!
Yes, thank you!
Glad we could help.
Cheers!
