Slow or Not Updating

Hello,
I’m having persisting and quite frustrating issues with lack of things updating on the front end after I make changes.
Example: I go into cornerstone and add an element. (video) it appears and is set in cornerstone. I save, exit to dashboard, etc.
Go and look and its Not There.
It happens way too often and i’m wondering how to solve the issue.

Love the X Theme… Really Tired of this particular issue.

Please help.

Thanks,
Cornell

Hello Cornell,

Thanks for asking and I am very sorry for the problems you are facing while using Cornerstone.

Can you please try out following solutions and let us know the outcome:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.
  3. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
  4. Remove custom CSS and Javascript from the options or Child Theme and test the case.
  5. Reset your htaccess file by renaming it to .htaccess-bak. Then in WP Admin Menu, go to Settings > Permalinks and just click the Save Changes button.
  6. Increase the PHP Memory Limit of your server. Click here for more detailed information and how to increase the PHP memory limit.
  • Make sure that you’re running at least PHP v5.6.x or later to avoid any WordPress related incompatibility issues. If you’re not sure what your server configurations and settings are, install a plugin like WP-Serverinfo (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-serverinfo/) and check your server info by head over to Dashboard -> WP Serverinfo area.
  • Check your PHP Max Execution Time and set it for 300 for optimal usage.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thank you.

Hey Cornell,

I see you’re still using X 4.6.4 and you’re using the latest version of Cornerstone. Please update to the latest version as suggested in the previous post #1. We could not update the theme for you because we don’t know if you have a back up. By updating it yourself, you also have knowledge of what’s going on.

The troubleshooting list is a bit exhaustive, we understand. However, X and Cornerstone are running inside WordPress and the list items above are just general troubleshooting steps for WordPress.

If the issue is not solved, please back up your site, give us FTP access and also give us permission to do the troubleshooting steps. Remember, that involves deactivating third party plugins. If that could not be done in your live site, please copy your site to a staging server and give us access there.

Thanks for understanding.
