Slider won't stop looping

Hi,

We have short videos loaded into RevSlider sliders on each page of our site and with the new update to RS, all of our sliders are continuously looping now. I’m showing that we have looping set to “OFF” for each one. I’m not sure what the work-around is.

Thank you for any assistance!

Hello @jquinn33,

Thanks for writing in!

You only have one slide. Your slideshow needs to stop after playing all the slides.

For more details, please check this documentation:

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, RueNel! I totally missed that setting! I did try changing it for two different sliders with just one slide and it doesn’t seem to make any difference. I tried clearing my cache and looked at it on a difference production machine. I read through the documentation you sent a link to (thank you for that!), but didn’t see anything obvious. Do you have any other suggestions? I’m thinking it must be a setting in the new update, as I didn’t seem to have a looping issue prior.

Thank you again!

Hi @jquinn33,

On your video layer, Advance Media Settings turn the Loop Media to OFF.

I understand that on some (if not all) of your slider this has been already set to OFF, in that case please turn this to On and OFF again to reset it.

After you do this you might need to play around with the Slider timeline so the video does not cut off early while not finishes playing.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Thank you, FriechI I tried this as well with a few different sliders and it is still looping! The very last slider listed titled oliver_beach_01-home-menu is one that needs to not loop. I’ve made the suggested setting changes and when you look at the Home page where this is used, you’ll see it’s still looping. I

I also had one slider that I looked at on the site after I did the update to the plugin (before I made any changes to the slider) and it was working great - stopping after one loop, so to test it all I did was open it up in RevSlider and save it without making any changes and now it won’t stop looping.

I also setup a brand new slider from scratch called “Test” using the same parameters and it also won’t stop looping! I’ll be happy to solve this mystery! Thank you again for any suggestions!

Hi @jquinn33,

I have the same Slider version (6.1.1) and when I turned off Media Loop, it works. But yes, I could confirm that it’s not working from your installation even adding a new one. I use the same video as yours in my slider and it has no issues, it stopped once the video ends.

Could you try re-installing your slider plugin? Then please create a clone of your site as staging so I could test it there without touching your live site. You could use all in one migration plugin for cloning your site, please check this https://wpshout.com/quick-guides/all-in-one-wp-migration/

Thanks!

Thank you, Rad! I tried re-installing the plugin, but get the same results. I went ahead and setup a staging site so you can take a look there! Thank you again very much for your assistance!

Hi @jquinn33,

Thank you for the credentials, but it did not work, please check.

I’m so sorry! Try again!

Thank you so much!!

Hey @jquinn33,

Turning off Allow Fullscreen made the video stop looping. You can check the first slider in your home page and the test page. Enabling it again doesn’t bring back the loop so it looks like the loop attribute got stuck somehow. I’m not sure what’s the real cause yet.

You can see that there’s no more loop attribute in the video tag output.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, Christian! I was so hoping this would be the fix, but on the actual site, turning off “Allow Fullscreen” and saving still won’t stop the looping. Even when I inspect the element, I still see “loop” in the attributes. Is there a chance there was some other change you made?

Thank you again for all your assistance!

Oh yes. I updated Slider Revolution to the latest version and that could have contributed to the fix. Please try updating Slider Revolution and turn the Allow Fullscreen on and off again.

We’ll continue investigating if it still doesn’t work. If your live site does have some server caching, please tell your host to temporarily deactivate it.

Thanks.

Thank you, Christian. I see the plugin has been updated! Thanks so much. I tried turning “Allow Fullscreen” on and off, saving after each, but still no change.

Thank you again for any assistance…

Yeesh!!! YOU FIXED IT, Christian!! THANK YOU!! I’m so sorry, I had the staging and live site dashboards up at the same time and thought the plugin had been updated on the live site, but it had not. So I updated it, turned “Allow Fullscreen” on and off, and everything works BEAUTIFULLY!!

THANK YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!

You’re most welcome @jquinn33!
We’re glad we were able to help you out.
