Slider Revolution simple carousel

Hello.

I’ve created a text-only transparent slide and assigned it as the static/global layer (Slide #1).

How do I get the three additional slides (Slides #2, #3 and #4) to cycle/loop behind this layer?

The “Start on slide” and “End on slide” options are greyed out in the Static Layers tab. Slides 2, 3 and 4 were created by bulk-importing images. I just want a simple carousel.

Many thanks.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in!

Can you please send us your access to the site so that we can have a look and suggest you the possible fix.
Without checking the site we can’t give you a proper solution.

Please send us the access in a secure note.

Thanks

I tried inserting the new “Welcome Note” slider at the bottom of the page, but that slider name doesn’t show in the list of available sliders. Not sure the attached access will help you see the problem.

NB: The slider at the top of the page works exactly as it should. (The one you’re seeing at the bottom is NOT the one I’m struggling with in RevoSlider. Is there a way for you to access those?)

Hi @tamdstudio,

We could only access and test it by logging in, please provide your site’s admin login credentials in a secure note. That URL only bypass the visibility of the page, but still not enough for checking the issue

About the slider name in the list, please install Transient Cleaner plugin and clean all your transients and check it again if you’ll see the slider name in the list. I’ll check this once you provide the login credentials.

Thanks!

Thanks Rad,

Ran Transient Cleaner and cleared cache but WELCOME TEXT is still not in the list.

Hey @tamdstudio,

We could not access your login page.

So very sorry about that. The note has been updated.

Hi @tamdstudio,

I checked your sliders and there is no “Welcome Note” slider. Hence, nothing to display in the slider list. May I know which slider you’re referring in your first question? My first thought was “Welcome Note” but wasn’t there.

The static layer will permanently display regardless of the slider (hence global static layer). And the slide will cycle/loop behind it. It’s by default how it works, would you mind providing information of what you’re getting instead of this?

Thanks!

Hi Rad,

It is Welcome Text, not ‘note’. Written correctly in my second reply, but incorrectly in my first reply.

It is slider #8; 4 slides; transparent; (and I keep setting slide #1 as static but that never seems to keep)

Hi @tamdstudio,

Sorry for the confusion, the first question was about “Welcome Note” so I thought we’re still discussing the same name and “Welcome text” is another. But yes, “Welcome text” is on the list, it’s working fine.

About the slides, I thought you’re using global/static layers? I don’t see any.

Please check this for static layers https://www.themepunch.com/faq/remove-delete-layer-elements-from-imported-templates-5-0/

Maybe you could provide more information of what exactly you’re trying to achieve? You mean hiding those slides and just make the 1st slide display them? Because that’s not possible. How about just add your static text layer to the Global Layers (which is, of course, transparent by default) then enable those 3 slides. The Global layers will stay in its position while those 3 slides slide in and transition.

Thanks!

Thanks Rad,

What you’ve described is exactly what I’m trying to achieve. But I’ve been clicking those inactive buttons you circled in red and attempting to set Slide #1 (Welcome to) as the Static/Global layer since yesterday.

Now, as of 10 minutes ago, clicking one seems to do something and ends with the message: Slide is now the active hero slide.
…but it ALSO deselects all the others. The tutorials show multiple slides with the green checkbox (instead of the null symbol) and point to the “Start on slide” and “End on slide” options. I can’t seem to make all of them active OR get the Start/End dropdowns to stop being greyed out.

EDIT: I just tried a new slider and the behavior is consistent. I’m clearly missing a [probably very obvious] step somewhere.

Hi There,

On the Slider Settings change the Slider Type to Standard Slider. right now it was set to Hero Scene that is why it was forced to show only one slide.

Slider Type

Then follow Rad’s suggestion above, put the text inside Static / Global Layers, and let those 3 slides loop behind.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

I’m so very grateful to all of you. Many, many thanks.

We are delighted to assist you with this.

Cheers!
