Slider Revolution Preview

Hi
Using Pro, and when creating a slider in Slider Revolution, then trying to preview it I am not seeing the preview, just a blank canvas. When inspecting the code I am getting the errors as per image 4 attached.
I then switched the theme to 2019 and the preview works, although I am getting one error as per image 5 attached.

I am using php 7.0 but the error seems to be saying that it is looking for php 5.3.

Can you advise please

Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you for writing in, but I can not replicate the issue on my end, I can preview all your 3 sliders. Please try using the incognito/private mode of your browser where there is no caching and browser add-ons involve, the issue on your end might be caused by caching or browser add-ons.

Cheers!

Hi, and thanks for your help.

I am using Safari, and have checked and cleared all of the caches, and I have no add-ons. If I try and preview the slides I am getting nothing, but using the same browser etc, if I switch to the Wordpress 2019 theme I can see them in preview.

I am at a loss.

Alex

Hey Alex,

On my end, the texts are shown but the images are missing. That is because of a server problem though. The errors you showed us in your first post are also usually caused by a certain server configuration.

Please contact your web host and tell them to temporarily switch your site to PHP 5.6. If that works, try going up to PHP 7 then also test higher versions. Right now, you’re using PHP 7.3 and I’ve seen issues with it on certain web hosts. This is not because of PHP 7.3 total incompatibility but there might be a new feature of 7.3 that is enabled and is causing the issue.

Your memory and time limit looks sufficient so I don’t suspect this.

Thanks.

Hi and thanks for your response.

I have switched the pho version to 5.6 and the problem persists. I have left the site on this version of php if you want to look
To clarify, using 5.6, 7.x versions of php I cannot see the images when using Safari 13.0.4
However using Chrome I can see the previews using all versions of php.

I am using a brand new MacBook Pro running 10:.15.2

I am ready to accept that the issue is on the server, but I need to be able to tell the hosting company what the issue is

Thanks

Alex

Hey Alex,

You can start asking them why the images in your staging site or live site do not exist like the following screenshot. In your staging site, I changed the theme to the default WordPress theme and still the issue persists.

Also, ask them to check the server’s error log and make server configuration adjustments to fix the errors.

Thanks.

Hi Christian

I suspect that has been caused by switching between the PHP versions, and having to change from their Wordpress to the Linux Platform in order to do that. Anyway. This is a new site right at the start of its development so I have removed it and will start again from scratch.

I will install Wordpress, Pro Theme and see what happens. Apologies for the inconvenience. I will let you know what happens

Alex

No problem at all, Alex.

Hi Christian
Ok clean installation of Wordpress, and Pro theme added. Only plugin activated is Revolution Slider. Have downloaded a template and when I try to view, using Safari, it I get as per the attached. I was running debug at the same time and you can see the errors I was getting.

I switched to 2019 theme and got the same.

I have not bothered with the staging site at the moment, so the url is www.sentinelhouse.uk. credentials as previously advised if you want to have a look.

Thanks for your continued help

Alex

Hey Alex,

Like Friech, Slider Revolution works fine on my end even using Pro. I tested in Windows Chrome and Mac Safari so this isn’t a browser issue either.

Please try a different computer connected to a different network. Also, try other web hosts. You can test in web hosts that offer free development site like pantheon.io.

Since we can’t replicate the issue, there is nothing we could do for this case.

Thank you for understanding.
