Slider Revolution - Post based Slider questions

Hi there,

I’m setting up a post based slider here at the top of the page: http://www.tickething.decorolux.com/

I have a couple of questions:

  1. I want to display part of the excerpt, or the content. But since it is usually not possible to grab Cornerstone content, I thought it’d be easier to go with the excerpt. I tried adding it and formatting it in Rev Slider, but it does not seem to work.

  2. I’ve set up my first slider in a way that would be great for all my slides. I’ve duplicated the slider, but now, all 3 slides show the same slide. Is there a way to change this? Would it be better if I used global slides? Would that pull in the title for each slide for example?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thanks for posting in.

  1. Since you said you’re trying to grab the cornerstone content then, even with the excerpt, it may still not work since Wordpress will try to generate excerpt from that existing content. The only solution is adding your excerpt manually, please check this http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-customize-wordpress-excerpts-no-coding-required/

  2. I think what you need is the post slider template if you plan using multiple slides. Please check this https://www.themepunch.com/faq/choose-slide-template-individual-posts/. Unfortunately, that option is no longer available, but you can still enable it by following what’s given here https://theme.co/apex/forums/topic/slider-revolution-template-selection-missing/?replyto=1320516#post-1321843

And you will still need to add title and excerpt for each template.

Thanks!

No problem with the last part, but you misunderstood me. I have no trouble adding the excerpt. My problem is, this is how it looks:

Is there a way to format it?

On the backend, I gave it 80% width and 15% height, so it should plenty of space to position itself in two lines:

Instead, it runs out of the screen.

Ideas?

Hi there,

Yes you can easily format it by selecting the layer and making use of the options in the Rev Slider toolbar to format the text.

Hope this helps.

This is what I wrote, I’ve done that and it’s not working.

Hi there,

Are you trying to format the text such as changing the text color, font, and the font size and are not working?

Please checking if you have any custom CSS that is overriding the styling you have set on the layer.

Also, try selecting the layer and clicking on the autoline break setting.

Kindly also clear your cache after making some changes.

If you have no custom CSS, please provide the admin details of your site in a secure note so that we can check.

Thanks, that worked great!

However, I ran into another issue that I would appreciate some help with. With the current setup. I have a shape positioned behind the text on each page. However, during transitions, it goes away and comes back. It doesn’t look to good. So as a workaround, I tried using the global layer option. However, in this case, it is positioned above my text. For some reason, I"m unable to change the z index with css. Could you have a look? Thanks!

Hey There,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:

All the best!

Hi,

Try to add it as a layer, you can then change the layer order.

Hope that helps
