Slider Revolution: move the grid layer for mobile or other smaller screen

Good evening everyone,

I am looking for some help. I believe my question is pretty straightforward but maybe I don’t find the good words to look for it. Anyway, it seems I cannot find a solution.

Here’s my problem: I want to use Slider Revolution and have it responsive. Now, when I switch from Desktop to Mobile view, I can see the grid layer (the small blue dots) becoming smaller (480 x 720px) and the background image being cropped.

So far so good, except that the grid layer I get doesn’t focus on the part of the background image I want. I would like it, instead of being centred, to go a little bit on the left (Let’s say minus 100px).

I hope I am clear enough.

I’ve looked for ages on Google or other means but cannot find the solution. Could anyone help me, please?

Well…

Actually, I may have just found my own solution. In the end, what I want to do can be done by having my background image as layer image. Instead oh having multiple slides, I could just have one slide with multiple image layers.

Glad you have found a solution for your needs and thank you for updating us!

Cheers.

That being said, I feel it’s a little bit awkward and it might not be the best practice.

So, to put it in an other way, is what I intended to do is feasible?

Well, it’s funny how writing my thoughts here are helping me to find other solutions. I’ll write them there if someone else will look to do the same thing.

An other, and maybe cleaner way around, would be to have two different sliders on your page, but one activated only for PC and tablets and the other one only for smartphone. Then, you would resize/crop your background image on your PC using any tool at disposal (I guess even Paint will do) in order to fit to smartphone requirements.

That wouldn’t change my question though: is what I originally intended to do feasible or do we have to use tricks to get to that result?

Hi Gregory,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. That works too although there are straighforward steps of doing it. No need to create 2 sliders. 1 slider is just fine. There are ways to adjust background to make it responsive. I found the following guide that might help you:

https://www.themepunch.com/slider-revolution/responsive-setup/

Hope this helps.

Hi Lely and sorry for the late reply.

I see the responsive setup and had some success regarding the different layers but I am not sure we can have different position for the background image, depending on the device the sliders is.

Hey Gregory,

No worries. Sorry for the confusion though. There is no option to change the background image’s position. The Responsive Positioning is for content or layers so what you did first is the only option without the use of custom codes which will need a developer to write so you need to consult with one.

Hope that helps.

Thank for your reply

You’re welcome, Greg.
