Slider revolution malfunction

Re-updated to latest version of Slider Revolution (again):
Well, back to the some of the images being too large (sigh…)
Hope you can help me out. Thank you so very much for your time and energy.

Reactivated Slider Plugin:
When I reactivate the Slider plugin, I get this error message: Revolution Slider Error: The param Slider Width should not be empty. (Sadly, I am not sure where to update the param Slider Width).

Reverted to site backup:
I reverted to my backup copy of my site but that did not resolve the Slider problem.
I then deactivated the Slide plug-in and this error displays on my live site: [rev_slider alias=“Topbarslider”]

At this point, I don’t care about the Slider. I just want my site to be back to normal. No Slider is fine. Whatever.

Updated to latest version of Slider Revolution:
Hello, about 5 years ago I purchased X and added the Slider Revolution. It has worked fine up until today when I updated to the latest version of Slider. My custom-sized images are too big (well, some of them). I cannot figure out how to adjust the size - either by uploading new images (where does that happen?) or by adjusting the size of the viewing window of the slider. When I deactivate the whole thing, I get code at the top of my web page referencing the slider and the spacing of the top of the page is all messed up. Can you help me out? Thank you! I tried to access the Slider Revolution plug in but it said I needed a purchase code. Who knows what that is now 5 years later… I really don’t want to pay $26 for something that I believe I already have… Can you please please help me out. Thank you so very much!

Hello @pdxstorytheater,

Thanks for posting in! I have checked your site and it seems that you have updated Cornerstone to version 4.0.4 yet you have forgotten to update the X theme. You are still using version 6.5.5. Please make sure that your WP core, X theme and other plugins are up to date. Most of the time, out dated WP, theme or plugins will create issues in your site.
Our latest versions are:

  • WordPress Core 5.2.3
  • X theme 7.0.4
  • Cornerstone 4.0.4
  • Slider Revolution 6.1.2

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

If you have done all the updates, please check out your site particularly the sliders because the creators of the Slider Revolution has made a major release of the plugin which has a few big changes in it.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hello.
The site has the latest X Theme, Cornerstone, and Slider.
The Slider still is not displaying properly.
Please help me either:
1) get the images to display correctly (replace? how? resize the display? how?)
2) deactivate the slider without having incorrect spacing or an error message
Thank you.

Hey @pdxstorytheater,

I have checked all your sliders and the slider is working. The image is not display because it seems that the image does not exist.

Please check out the secure note below.

Thanks. Appreciate your help. I will try to correct this tomorrow and let you know. So kind of you. I just want this to work and keep working. More as it happens. Thanks!

You are welcome as always @pdxstorytheater!

Dear RueNel - well, basically I stopped the auto rotation on the slider and I am fine with that - I could not (at least tonight) figure out how to replace the slides and make them a better size / fit - oh well - at least it doesn’t look stupid and I am good with that. I made this site with someone a long time ago and I’m not doing anything with it design-wise. Just making updates to the static pages. Thanks again. Lynne Duddy

Glad that you found a compromise for the issue.
