Slider Revolution isn't configured correctly for Googlebot

Hi!

I believe we are using the bundled version of Slider Revolution with Cornerstone.I noticed Google’s Search Console reports the following when it searches our home page:

Revolution Slider Error. you have some jquery.js library include that comes after the revolution files .js include. This includes make eliminates the revolution slider libraries, and make it not work.

To fix it you can:

  1. In the Slider Settings -> Troubleshoot set option: Put JS Includes To Body option to true…
  2. Find the double jquerty.js include and remove it.

Tried to troubleshoot this and can’t see the right option in the Slider Settings. I was looking around I also saw that Slider Revolution appears to be Not Activated. Any idea why - and more importantly what would cause our program not to be activated if it was purchased in a bundle?

Thanks!

George

Hi @geowmyers,

Thanks for reaching out.

I checked your site and the slider loads okay, so I assume you’re referring to how Googlebot sees your site, then I’ll have to check this first. Please provide a screenshot and procedures on how we can reproduce this issue.

And according to recent news related to it, Googlebot should now able to run javascript. And that error you provided is displaying because javascript isn’t loaded and executed. The only thing I can think as of now is something is blocking Googlebot from accessing those javascript. Do you have recent optimization related to robots.xt? I recommend disabling them too and test it again.

Plus, themes and plugins has no relation to Googlebot, you simply control them with robots.txt, meta, and more. Like from here https://www.wikihow.com/Block-Google-Bot

Thanks!
