Slider revolution background image repeats horizontally - "no-repeat" option not working

I am having the same issue as this poster: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/slider-background-image-repeats-horizontally/28841

The background image is repeating once horizontally, but since Slider Revolution has updated, on one of my older slides, the “no-repeat” option in the General Settings doesn’t affect anything, and there is no “Image Settings” section under the background tab in Slide Options.

I will attach screenshots. Is there a way to force the “no-repeat” on the background image using CSS or something?

Thanks,

Old slide, image settings not showing

Newer slide, image settings showing (same website)

Hello @daneruef,

Thanks for writing in! The changes in the latest updates of the plugin should not affect the background image of your slider. it should work as expected to be. After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using Hummingbird Cache, WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

And please clear your browser cache too. You may use private browsing mode in testing your site to make sure that you are viewing the latest codes from the updates and not the cached version in your browser.

If nothing is working, would you mind providing us the url of the site in questioned so that we can investigate further?

Regards.

Thanks for the quickly reply!

The site is a build site with a temp domain, so we are no yet using any caching plugins except for the one that GoDaddy comes with automatically. I have flushed that cache and my own browser cache (and checked in private mode) but the issue persists.

The temp link is attached as a secure note. Let me know if you would like a temp login to see this issue on the back end.

Thanks again,

Hi @daneruef,

Have you tried removing and re-adding the background-image? A custom CSS "no-repeat" background property will not work in this case, because while the image on the left-side is a background-image, the image on the right-side is an image element (<img>). Try removing the background-image and readding it again see if that gives you the background options.

Cheers,

Hello,

It turns out I had to update Revolution Slider to resolve the issue. Thankfully I have the premium (paid) version of Revolution Slider, so this update was available for me. I don’t think non-paid Rev users can update the plugin.

At any rate, thanks again for the help. Seems like it was just a bug that got smoothed out with the update. Hopefully no other users run into this issue.

Hi @daneruef,

Glad things sorted out on your end and thank you for sharing what was the issue and the solution.

Cheers!
