Basically, slider and entire site was working fine, and suddenly stopped working. Turned off all plugins to debug, and those aren’t the issue. Made sure all settings in a myriad of places were good, and it seemed to be no problem. Probably something very simple, but I’m new to this, and not having a home page makes it so I can’t even launch my website. Any help? Details below.
Hello @Falcon63,
Thanks for writing in! There is an error in the homepage. It seems to have generated by the Rev Slider plugin. Both the post and the Piracy page is showing without issues. Only the homepage has the problem. Temporarily disable you SG Optimizer and WP Rocket and test the page again. If the issue still exist, the plugin could be coming from the Revolution Slider plugin. You may need to check your slide and its settings.
Please let us know how it goes.
Didn’t work. Any idea which settings might cause the error?
And now I can’t even edit the slider. Things just keep getting worse.
EDIT: And suddenly, my site says insecure, as if the SSL isn’t working.
What is going on? I just want to write my articles and be done with it…
Hello @Falcon63,
It looks like that Async JavaScript plugin and all other Revolution Slider Add on plugins have conflict. Please contact the respective creators of this plugin and let them know about this issue. This could be a bug or conflict which they know how to resolve.
Thank you for your understanding.
I’ll have to contact them. Know of anything I can do in the meantime? Deactivating it doesn’t fix the issue.
Hey @Falcon63,
I only thing that is not loading in your site is Slider Revolution. All sections are showing up. Would you mind providing more details or screenshots of the sections that aren’t showing?
I deactivated WP Rocket so I could see where the issue’s with Slider Revolution is coming from. It looks like essential scripts are not loaded due to some stoppage by your web host. Technically, something, probably a PHP setting, is messing up with WordPress load-scripts.php which is responsible for loading scripts of the theme and plugins.
We currently have seen this happening with SiteGround’s Managed WordPress hosting. If you’re using the service, you need to test out another host and move your site it if the other host does not have issues.
Please also temporarily deactivate all optimization plugins and Cloudflare while this issue is being investigated so all parties could clearly see where the issue is coming from.
Thanks.
Welp, guess there goes my website. I am using SiteGround, and just got the hosting. Can’t afford to switch right now.
I’ve tried deactivating everything. All plugins (including deactivating Slider Revolution itself), clearing all caches, using an earlier version of Slider Revolution, disabling CDN, disabling SSL/HTTPS, and nothing seems to be working.
It’s not as if the slider never worked. It stopped working. I’m at a complete and utter loss. I have no idea what the actual problem is, or who to contact to fix it.
EDIT: Also even tried backups from BEFORE the problem started. No luck.
Hi @Falcon63,
Could you try setting up another again with previous versions? The let us know and we’ll check, sometimes cache won’t clear instantly when you restored it.
I also tried with Revolution Slider 6.0 (as currently installed on your site but empty) on my end and I’m not getting any issue so yes, probably SiteGround related.
Thanks!
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I figured it out! Had to load the js in the body and select echo compression (Slider Revolution options).
Hey @Falcon63,
We are just glad that you have figured it out a way to correct the said issue.
Thanks for letting us know!
Best Regards.
