Slider Revolution 6.1.3

Hey

Ever seen Slider Revolution updated the plugin to 6, the sliders have caused nothing but problems.

Firstly It doesn’t show up on old versions of ios (9) and now it is cut off the slides on both my sites

On the Eddie Gamble site under showcase it shows just one slide, even though it has four!
Have to give login and password details privately if it helps.

I think there some error stuff on their part but not sure where it is.

Can you advise on this. Plus reading other posts in the forum, I’m not the only one who had problems due to recent update. I would consider binning their plugin all together if it continues.

Yes, I can confirm some issues but it could be due to data incompatibility since the 6.0 has a major difference that previous versions. I can see layers missing if the slider is made from older version, but not all the time. For that kind of issue, what I recommend is restoring back your slider (or perhaps the entire site including its database) to when it still working, then export the slider. Then you can upgrade your slider again and import the exported sliders to make sure the content and ata are generated based on 6.0. But there is no assurance so the last wok around is re-creating/doing some of the area of the slider.

Or stay for Slider 5.0 for now, then test the updates on staging (a different copy of your site). And once fixes are done you can simply upgrade your slider on the main site and import the slider from staging to the main site. Unfortunately, there is no quick workaround and it’s something we can’t control on our end. But yes, upgrading plugins with major changes into its features may always lead to similar issues and it’s not just isolated to Revolution Slider. Hence, it’s very important to test them all first on staging site.
