Slider keeps starting on the third slide

Hey there, I know there was someone else who was asking about starting sliders on a different slide than the first, but I’m having the opposite problem. I can’t seem to get my slide to start on the first—it keep starting on the third on desktop (not mobile) and I’m not sure why.

You can see my live slider here: https://www.theegeneration.org/#tgys

I’ll include a login to see the info in a secure note, too.

Hi @bobbybosler,

I have checked your website but didn’t find the issue you described. I have also tried a similar structure but the issue didn’t occur in my local environment too.
Can you please provide any screenshot marked with the issue or any video that helps us to recognize the problem?

Thanks

Hi @bobbybosler,

I was taking a look at this as well, and I think I might know what’s going on. On my screen, the pagination adjusts so the second (third for you it seems) dot shows active. This is a side effect of the Justify and Contain options being used simultaneously. The Justify option determines how the active slide is detected, and when Contain is “At Edges” it prevents whitespace at the beginning and end of the slide container.

There are two things you can do:

  1. Try setting your Justify setting to “Start” instead of Center.
  2. Or, set Contain back to “Ignore”. This will cause the first slide to be centered in the Slide Container

@alexander,

The reason I had it set to center is because of how I want the mobile slides to center. If I set it to “Start,” it isn’t centered on mobile. Would sure be nice if there were responsive options on that property.

Hello @bobbybosler,

You may use Scroll by “Content” instead so that your slides will always stay at the center while the pagination starts correctly with slide 1.

Kindly let us know if this works out for you.
