Site width - right hand column pushed out

Hi,

I am using the “Sticky Menu (On Anything!)” plugin to make a right-hand column - in a row of two columns - sticky on a page. It works fine, and I have a contact form in the right-hand column sliding down alongside the content in the left-hand column. Great. However, the content in the left-hand column looks a little squashed, as the page is currently utilising the NO CONTAINER - FOOTER, HEADER with the Global Container set to ON for the row. I would like to give some more room to these columns, so the text can be read more easily. So far I have tried to turn Global Container off and set the row width to 70% - this works for desktop - but as soon as I look at it on tablet or phone, the % margins are too great and the content is squashed. (I hide the right hand column for anything other than desktop/laptop - but still even the one column at 70% NO Global Container has too much margin). So, please you could help me either reduce the margin for mobile and tablet for 70% NO Global Container, making it look like Global Container if possible. OR Better, is there a way of keeping the Global Container on - and simply shifting the right hand column out into the white space to the right?

Grateful for some assistence! Thanks so much.

Hi Hugo,

Thank you for writing in, regretfully we do not provide support for issues that caused by third party plugins. But maybe if we can see the issue first hand we might able to help, or point you in the right direction.

Thanks,

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. It’s not the plugin I’m having an issue with.

Here’s the screenshot.

The contact form on the right is inside a column. What I would like is for that column to be roughly as wide as the purple border I’ve drawn, and for the whole column to be shunted over to the right, so that the left column with the text is wider and easier to read.

Ideally, the right column would be like this for desktop and laptop, and hidden for the lower screen sizes.

As I said above, I can get somewhere close to this by turning off Global Container and setting row width to 70%, however the row expands out to the left as well - not ideal as I would like to keep left margin in line with the logo above - and on mobile the 70% row width squashes the content in column 1 too much - even with column 2 hidden.

Any thoughts?

Okay, don’t worry, I think I have got the solution - now it seems obvious! I was sure I could just negative the margins - but I couldn’t find that option on column setup - but if I inserted the enquiry form shortcode into a Text element, I was able to negative instruct the left margin and positive instruct the right margin, and boom - I have a pushed right enquiry form! Will have to hide, or jimmy around abit to work on tablet, and hide on mobile - but this is all good! Thanks for your help anyway
