Site-wide background colour

Hi chaps,

I’m trying to amend the background colour across my client’s demo site; it’s currently set (in Theme Options > Layout and Design > Background Options) to a light grey (rgb: 229, 229, 229), but whenever I add a new section to a page, the section just appears white, even though it’s set to have a totally transparent background (rgba: 255, 255, 255, 0). Is there a ‘page background’ setting that might be overruling the ‘site background’ somewhere?

I know that the background colour is being applied, as I can see the colour changing behind the navbar (which is set to slightly transparent):

Obviously I could just set each section background to the desired colour, but if the client comes back later on and wants to make changes, I’m then forced to go back and change every section individually, which is very time-consuming.

Hi @MCC,

There is a default CSS for the Ethos stack that adds a white background to the main content area for the templates, for the Blank | No Container templates.

To override it, please add this code in X > Theme Options > CSS:

.page-template-template-blank-4-php .x-main, 
.page-template-template-blank-5-php .x-main, 
.page-template-template-blank-6-php .x-main, 
.page-template-template-blank-8-php .x-main {
    background-color: transparent;
}
