Site went down after update. What to do?

Must admit that I havent really updated my site properly since I got a job for almost 4 years ago. And even though it has been exiting to read sometimes & see all the progress etc that has been happening with X, I could not quite fathom having to put myself into it all again. So overwhelming. But I guess it’s time now. to have a look.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 5.9
Current theme: X – Child Theme (version 1.0.0)
Current plugin: Cornerstone (version 6.1.4)
PHP version 5.6.40

How shall I proceed? The old PHP version has been bothering me for some time. Do I need to contact my web hotel to do something about that? Or can it be changed from within recovery version of backend?

Hi @SharoFF,

Thanks for reaching out!

The issue on your website has something to do with the PHP version. As a WordPress recommendation, your PHP version should be 7.4 or up. That being said, I suggest that you reach out to your hosting provider and ask them for assistance regarding updating your PHP version.

Hope that helps.
