Site update not working X won't install

I followed the advice on this board about updating an old version of X because the license became unverified.

I keep trying to reinstall and no matter how many times I download the theme from the site the upload fails in wordpress and keeps saying

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

The clients site now doesnt work as the theme is gone, please please help me get it back online:

Thanks for writing in! I was able to logged in and successfully resolved your issue. I simply download x.zip from the dashboard (https://theme.co/apex/dashboard) and uploaded x.zip in Appearance > Themes > Upload. I activated the the X theme and validated it with the given license code.

Please update your plugins as well. In most cases, out dated theme and/or plugins will create issues in your site.

Check your site now.

Thanks for updating this thread. Where did you get the theme, from Theme Forest? Before uploading anything, please make sure that you are uploading x.zip file. Please DO NOT upload x_package.zip because this is not the correct file. If you want, you can download a fresh copy of the theme x.zip from your dashboard (https://theme.co/apex/dashboard) and upload it in Appearance > Themes > Upload.

If nothing is helping, we kindly ask that you open your issue in a separate thread along with your login details in a secure. The longer threads get in the forum, they become more difficult to support as they tend to drift off topic and they also make it troublesome for users trying to search for solutions. Keeping threads relevant to their original inquiry ensures that we can keep better track of what has been resolved and that users can more effectively find answers to similar issues they might be experiencing.
