Site structure

Hi there,

I’m working on the SEO of my website and that’s why I’m trying to make a knowledge base on the company website about funding and so on. I’m trying to set up a structure like the one in the picture below:

So I made a general page with 3 main topics of our posts as links at the following link: https://investorready.nl/kennisbank/. On this page you can go to 3 different pages that our main topics. Those pages are:

Problem is that the 3 topics don’t follow the page ‘Kennisbank’. I’d like to that the site structure is investorready.nl/kennisbank -> investorready.nl/kennisbank/pitchdeck, investorready.nl/kennisbank/investeerders and investorready.nl/kennisbank/bedrijf.

After that I’d like to that I can make posts for each of the three topics and that they have the corresponding breadcrumb. So for example a post about pitchdeck would be: investorready.nl/kennisbank/pitchdeck/post-about-pitchdeck/. And a post about how to find investors would be: investorready.nl/kennisbank/investeerders/how-to-find-investors/

How can I achieve this that the pages are linked to each other and have this site structure with X theme on Wordpress?

Thanks in advance,

Floris

Hi Floris,
Thanks for reaching out.

Seems that the URL i.e https://investorready.nl/kennisbank/ is a page in your site along with the other three. So you can select the 'Kennisbankpage asParent Page`.
It will create the URL and the breadcrumb with the prefix of the selected page. Please find the screenshot describing the settings.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Hi @tristup,

Thank you for your reply. I’ve tried doing that, but now when I go to the new url, for example: https://investorready.nl/kennisbank/bedrijf/ - it doesn’t work. I get a 404 page. Also when I go to the page in Cornerstone I get the following error:

Hi Floris,

There might some other reasons for that, we need to examine it more to comment on this. Hope you will not mind sharing your site credential in our secure note, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Admin URL
– WordPress Admin username / password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

I’ve added our site credentials in a secure note in our previous reply.

Hi Floris,

The reason why the preview is not loading because of the plugin conflict and the culprit is the Custom Post Type UI plugin, I deactivated the plugin and the preview is now working fine.

The same thing with the link, when the Custom Post Type UI was disabled then I try to change the permalink the Plain then put it back again to Post Name then this page https://investorready.nl/kennisbank/bedrijf/ is now working properly.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Ah thank you for all the help, it’ s indeed working correctly now.

I was wondering do you also maybe know how I can get blog posts that are ‘linked’ to the 3 different pages: Pitchdeck, Investeerders and Bedrijf? I want to have different posts that can be divided in those 3 categories and should have the correct permalinks. So for example a post about pitchdeck would be: investorready.nl/kennisbank/pitchdeck/post-about-pitchdeck/. And a post about how to find investors would be: investorready.nl/kennisbank/investeerders/how-to-find-investors/.

How can I achieve this with X theme on Wordpress? Or is there plugin that I need to use for this?

Thanks in advance,

Floris

Hi Floris,

We are glad that it is working now. On your follow up question, can you explain further about the concern, providing screenshots is a great help.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi @cramaton,

Thanks for your reply. When a post is created it gets the following url: website/link-of-post. See image below:

This is fine for some posts, but we’d like to have 3 seperate different categorie of posts:

  1. Investeerders
  2. Pitchdeck
  3. Bedrijf

So when creating a new post we can decide either it’s one of these 3 categories. When a post is made for 1 of these categories it needs the correct permalink. So that is:

  1. Investeerders: https://investorready.nl/kennisbank/investeerders/post
  2. Pitchdeck: https://investorready.nl/kennisbank/pitchdeck/post
  3. Bedrijf: https://investorready.nl/kennisbank/bedrijf/post

Is there a way for it with X theme or is there a support about it with a solution. Or do you maybe know a plugin that can help with this? I saw something like https://wordpress.org/plugins/permalinks-customizer/ or custom post type plugin that works with X theme?

So that we can achieve something like the structure in the image below:

Thanks in advance,

Floris

Hi Floris,

This would require customization to achieve your permalinks goal. Regretfully, customization is outside the scope of your theme support. You may seek 3rd party developer or you can avail our One support to help you with your customization.

Hope that helps and thank you for understanding.
