Site not displaying top links on IE11 Windows 7

Hi Guys ,

Site not displaying top links on IE11 Windows 7

I had an open ticket corresponding through email and they closed it before it was resolved.

I had asked for assistance with the top link navigation not displaying properly on a windows 7 IE 11 computer. As far as I am aware, it is only on this OS.

I do not have access to the system where display is not functioning, so I cannot provide a screenshot; of the computer with issues - it is compressing all top nav links on top of each other and to the left, and forcing the image in header as well.
.
Could you please tell me how to resolve this

Hi There,

This is a known issue but has been fixed on version Pro 1.1. See this:https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/troubleshooting-pro-known-issues/203. I can see it still exist on your site even if it’s the latest version. Did you clear cache before disabling the caching plugin? This is just to make sure that the issue were seeing is not part of cache content.

Hi Lely,

I actually don’t know if I did or not
Can I simply clear it now to check or is there something specific I need to do to resolve this to check now ? ( also is there a specific cache somewhere that I wouldn’t / might not know of that you could point me toward )

Hello,

Thank you for writing in!

You clear the cache now and check if there`s some problem yet.

Hi John,

I was not sure if you meant the WP cache, the browser on that OS or the FTP
as I do not know how to clear the FTP I have contacted the host for this site and asked, awaiting reply, I will request the user of this OS / browser to clear as well, however on
https://netrenderer.com/index.php
it has not changed and has some very old information in this page so I think it is FTP you need cleared, I will update when I learn how to do these and resolve what I can to try make easier for you to diagnose any ongoing if exist after.
If the above does sound incorrect actions, please let me know in mean time. Thank you.

Update : The server cache has now been cleared by host.
The display has changed;
however now the footer is not displaying correctly and the squashed top navigation tabs are displaying vertically down the page instead. (looks much worse than before)

Hi there,

I managed to fix the problem on the homepage, by going to Pro > Launch > Header and accessing your homepage header.

I clicked on the magnifying glass icon of the Container which contains the Inline Navigation and the search icon.

On the Self Flex section, I changed the Flex Basis from Auto to 100%:

IE 11 can not handle the auto property correctly in some cases. You will need to do the same for all your headers.

Thank you.

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for this !
Unfortunately it dd not seem to have the same effect on the other headers.
I have tried a few variants to no avail as well. I’m wondering if there is perhaps something I have overlooked ?

Would you please kindly give us an exact example of the case to follow up? Give us the name of Header which you added the change we mentioned and it is not working as expected in IE 11.

Thank you.

hi Guys,

Here is a screenshot of the result of the headers on IE 11 with settings as instructed.
You can also see how this is affecting the image in the top bar.
The home page is ok now , however is not displaying the background in IE 11 either.

Additionally at the instructed 100% setting for all pages other than the home page, it pushes the ‘call now’ button out to the right and stacks text- however if I reduce this to 80% it is ok in the cornerstone display, yet remains the same at either 100% or 80% in IE 11 display. Hopefully this will help a little.

Hi,

You need to set the flex basis of the container to 100%.

I went ahead and set it.

Kindly check in your end.

Thanks

For some reason I got it this time.

I know you basically reiterated what Christopher instructed, the problem was, when I previously tried to do this I somehow did it incorrectly.

For anyone else with this issue, the mistake I made initially was I somehow managed to change the ‘self flex’ in the inline navigation field instead of the container field.

Now that I have adjusted it in ‘container’ as instructed, it has worked successfully.

Thanks guys !

Glad we could help.

Cheers!
