Site forms not working since update

The order form on our site stopped functioning after I updated the theme and my plugins. I think the form is generated by Cornerstone somehow, because the form remains even after all the plugins are deactivated and I can see the form fields when in Cornerstone edit mode, instead of shortcodes.

I turned off all of the plugins and the form still doesn’t work. Click on Submit button and nothing happens.

With all the plugins turned on, the button is press-able and the page loads (indicating something happening) but instead of a confirmation, it just returns a white page. The person on the other end never receives a form submission.

I can’t test the theme because if I switch to default theme the form goes away.

This is an urgent problem.

Hi @Claudis0001,

Thanks for writing in.

In this case, it would be best to share us your admin credentials so we could check your setup closer.

I will not suggest any fix yet because this could be because of the latest updates.

Don’t forget to set it in a secure note.

Thanks.

Hey There,

Is your issue not resolve? Please provide us the url of the site and the WP access is needed so that we can investigate further. By the way, we have released X 6.1.3 and Cornerstone 3.1.3. It is now available in automatic updates. You can now update to this latest version. This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Thanks.

No, still not resolved. When I turn on the plugin I get the error PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Cornerstone_Shortcode_Generator in /nas/content/live/partnersinspee/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/classic/builder/class-shortcode-generator.php on line 2583

Currently however the whole site is down with 502 bad gateway, which is/maybe unrelated. But as soon as we figure that out, this other error is top priority because the site is all shortcodes without Cornerstone.

Hello There,

You seems to have forgotten to send the URL of your site as well. Meanwhile, could you please confirm that you have updated to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 61.3
  • Cornerstone 3.1.3

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi,

The site is partner.inspeednetworks.com. I sent the login in a private message to @nico.

So, over the weekend I reverted the site back to a backup from before the update. So it is not updated to the most recent version, obviously. This also means the situation is no longer urgent, as we can take our time to do this all via our new staging site. Moreover, if you login now to assist you won’t see the problem because we’ve reverted to before the update.

Hi,

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Hi,

I’ve updated Cornerstone and X Theme again, but this time on Staging so it doesn’t break the true site.

I have attempted a few things, as suggested by someone else on your staff. I have:

  • Deleted/reinstalled Cornerstone
  • Reset permissions from the host-level

before when I used the form, I got no indication that the click had registered. Now I am taken to a new page with error message:

Warning: require(/nas/content/staging/partnersinspee/wp-content/themes/x/html2pdf/html2fpdf.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /nas/content/staging/partnersinspee/wp-content/themes/x-child/purchase_order.php on line 736

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/nas/content/staging/partnersinspee/wp-content/themes/x/html2pdf/html2fpdf.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear/php:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in /nas/content/staging/partnersinspee/wp-content/themes/x-child/purchase_order.php on line 736

Hi Claudis0001,

It seems that the old version of the theme is heavily customized by you. The error indicates that there is no file called html2fpdf.php in the theme.

Well, actually we do not have such a file in our theme. This shows that you have customization on your theme which you are not aware of somehow.

Please contact the original developer that created the feature for you and ask them for help.

Please consider that there is no such a file in our theme which the error indicates.

Thank you for your understanding.
