Site font color over-riding chosen color of Page's Cornerstone Section

Hi,

On the staging site for InSpeedNetworks.com, on our home page we have the common one-page style that shows a photo under the text. For this reason it makes sense to change the font color from the default to a color that stands out against the background. Naturally the color of a section should over-ride the main color chosen for headers of the site. But when I change the color to white (using the Customizer GUI for that particular page, by clicking on the Text box and scrolling down to Text and choosing my color) the color doesn’t change.

I know I’ve set it up properly because when I use Inspect Element and uncheck the box next to the main color, it turns into the color I’ve changed it to. But obviously I don’t want to override the main header colors for the site just so this one banner looks good. Shouldn’t the banner’s local color choice over-ride the site’s colors? And how to fix?

Thanks.

Hi @Claudis0001,

Thanks for writing in.

Not sure which one you want to change. Would you mind sharing us a screenshot of the text that you want to change.

Thank you so much.

Hi, I figured it out.

Rather than using the font color option in the Customizer, I was able to change the font’s color in the box where you edit the text. I usually stick to the HTML tab there, but I switched to the visual editor and there is an option there to change the color of the font. This creates span tags around the text.

IMHO, having span tags change the color is the least-efficient way to go about this, and it is additionally confusing that there is a font color option in Customizer that doesn’t work. Something your team might want to consider for your next revision.

Hi,

Can you provide us a screenshot of the text you are referring to.

If you are using text element, you can change the text color under text style.

Anyways, using span tags will work to.

Thanks
