Site favicon takes over 2s to load?

Hi. I am chasing down some site load speed issues and notice that my site faviocon is taking over 2s to load (using gtmetrix) . The favicon is show without issue on all browsers tested - it just adds significant time to page load.

I have loaded the favicon via the customizer using the path to the favicon in the media file directory https://www.mysalus.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/mslogo_150x150_icon.ico. I have read that the favicon should be in the site root directory however and not sure if this follows “best practice” or not - or how I would point the path (via customizer) to the website root with the favicon file?

Thanks for writing in!

If you have uploaded the .ico file in the root, you will have to insert a direct file path like this;

A 152x152 PNG should be used for your touch icon, and a 144x144 PNG should be used for your tile icon.

After making all your changes, you will have to login to your CloudFlare account and purge your site cache before testing your site.
