Anytime I try to update anything (content, plugins etc) the site goes blank and I need to restore a backup… Site is now down and I need to know whats happening… When I inspect it looks like nothing is being loaded? Is there an known issue?

A Blank screen usually means PHP error, this could be caused by a plugin conflict.
Please try turning off all third party plugins and performing the update.
If the issue persists, Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:
Set it as Secure Note
- Link to your site
- WordPress Admin username / password
- FTP credentials
