Site crashed after installing ssl certificate

After SSL certificate ran out I have installed a new one. Everything on the site crashes and the page consists of a long menu on the left with nothing else but broken links. I have upgrade to pro as recommended in the forum, but it will not open. I have tried to upgrade Really Simple ssl to pro too, but everything crashes. Now I am not able to log in to WP and work on the site either.

Hello @kludrik,

Thanks for writing to us.

It seems that the URLs are not fully replaced while moving the site from HTTP to HTTPS that causing the Mixed Content issue [ HTTP and HTTPS ] blocking to load styles and image required recourse.
I would suggest you replace the URL properly and check this again, there are many URL replacement Plugins available in WordPress which help you to replace the URL.
This article will be helpful in this:https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-update-urls-when-moving-your-wordpress-site/

Also, remember that the exact URL should be mentioned in Setting > General, WordPress Address and Site URL, including the protocol i.e HTTP/HTTPS.

Hope this helps.
Thanks

As it is now I am not able to do anything in WP as I am no longer able to get to the login page. I get redirected to a page that says “You blew up the internet”.
I have backups from a some days ago in 2 ways: A direct download of all the files via ftp and a backup-file.tar.gz.
Is i possible to replace the content in the ftp directory with any of these, and if so do you have some info on how to proceed?

Hello @kludrik,

Since you are using the Really SImple SSL, please make sure that you have set the SSL properly.
Kindly check out the URL in the secure note below.

Cheers.

I finally had to use a programmer who fixed the problem. He concluded that it was name conflicts internally between Xtheme and cornerstone. Its disappointing that this was not uncovered by your support. I now see that its time to jump of the x train and convert sites to gutenberg.

Hi @kludrik,

There’s nothing wrong with the X theme and Cornerstone plugin regarding the SSL installation. If your programmer claims that there’s an issue with it, it might affect other websites but it isn’t. I suspect there’s another reason why it is not working on your installation.

Thank you.
