Site complete mess in Chrome browser

Dear,

Please check my website, it looks perfectly fine in Safari but in Chrome it’s a complete mess!

I was changing the header menu with PRO when this happened, it worked great before. I think there’s a bug in the header functionality. I tried to change it do a different header and it’s still displaying a double header in Chrome.

I added the link and the credentials in the secure note attached to this topic.

I have tried to duplicate the page and assign a new header to it and it only half-worked; I cant change the headers after that, it just keeps displaying the initial header on that page after that. A bug?

Even when I delete the header, in Chrome it’s still being displayed :open_mouth:

I can’t assign new headers to the home page, nor to the copies of the homepage. In Chrome it keeps displaying old stuff or messed out stuff.

HI @yvescleeren,

Thanks for writing in.

First, would you mind sharing us the details of the header that you want to achieve. Perhaps a screenshot.

Next, this could be because of caching plugin. Disable any caching plugin when developing your setup.

Lastly, if still not working, please make us admin in the login that you shared so we could check further.

Don’t forget to set it in a secure note.

Thanks.

I have tried to create a new empty page and a new test header and still it’s displayed differently in Chrome and Safari.

I have asked friends to check the page and I have checked it from different devices, the same error persists.

I have updated the xtheme user to administrator just now. I will include some screenshots of my debugging attempts in a secure note now.

I want “Main header” to be visible on all pages and on all browsers.

I have created a copy “Homepage debugging” and a new empty page “Homepage start from zero” to try and see where it goes wrong. I have also created a new debug header (red bar with counter). But even the empty page and the new header I can’t get it to show up in Chrome.

Hello There,

I have checked one of your page and it appears that the version displayed when you are logged in and if you are not log in is very much different. This could be cause a caching mechanism usually by a plugin or in your server itself. Please clear all your site caches or contact your hosting provider. They should be able to tell if your hosting has varnish or other caching method in the server.

Please let us know how it goes.

Yeah, I have logged in into the different browsers and the problem seems to be the different between being logged in and logged out.

The logged out version is not correct and shower NO header (at the moment). I have deleted the browser’s cache and delete all plugins; no plugin pertaining to caching remains now.

I’m using EasyWP and they dont seem to have caching options, the one they had was varnish; and I deleted that plug in.

The problem still persists however: could you check in an hour to solve tihs, I really want my website to be operational again asap.

Thanks!!!

Hi There,

Actually, the issue is happening even on Firefox. It is a caching related issue because if you access the site like this (http://pmapropertymanagement.com/?nocache=1) you’ll see the real header.

If you do have a caching plugins before that you have deleted without clearing it, more likely it still have cache residual in your site, and that is what we are getting. One way to clear that is to reinstall your caching plugin and clear it.

And please contact your hosting and confirm that they don’t have an internal caching feature.

Cheers!

I have reinstalled the plugin and cleared the cache for all pages and still it’s not working. How can I just the the regular pages to show up.

EDIT: I have deleted the cache page by page, it seemed to have resolved the issue. THIS DROVE ME CRAZY. Thanks for helping out guys, would have never found it.

You are most welcome.
