Hi @finkk,
Thanks for reaching out.
This would require customization which we can’t provide. That thread was old (4 years ago) and that only applies to the versions of that time. The structures are now more complex, it’s still doable but I recommend contacting a developer since it’s a 3rd party plugin with different structures and feature than before.
Thanks for understanding.
So what you’re saying is, that ANY custom post type used in the Xtheme will have to use the default blog title?
And that you’re ok helping someone a few years ago, but won’t update and old thread, with new info?
This is also not a plugin problem, it’s your default post loop, which many, many other things use.
To be honest, I had expected a little more from you guys.
Hi @finkk,
Yes, it will use the default one since the landmarks and other header elements are made for existing post types. The theme has no capability to predict other custom post types so it doesn’t have pre-include conditions for the title. Like is_singular('custom-post-type') given that headers changes per stack and types.
We don’t provide customization, what was provided years ago is just a snippet since it was simple and it’s to help people get started. It’s user responsibility to enhance and change it, what we provided is an idea and to help them to kick-start their customization. And we don’t provide any enhancement since it’s not initially part of the theme. Hence, please contact a developer and provide the old thread and use the same idea.
I’m not saying it’s a plugin problem, but it’s not theme problem either. What’s lacking here is the integration of the two, they aren’t compatible at this moment. It’s the same with portfolio, post, page, and other post types, they are of course integrated first. Other plugins have post types too and work well with the theme as some are simple with pre-integration.
I’ll add this to our issue tracker as a feature request. You may also use the bundled Modern Calendar.
Thanks!
