I just updated to 4.9.1 and my front page video which was operating on a loop now doesn’t want to loop, despite having the loop ‘checked’.
It’s on a Revolution Slider.
Sorry not a developer just a ‘home’ user, any help advice hugely appreciated.
Hi,
Thanks for writing in! To assist you with this issue, we’ll first need you to provide us with your URL. This is to ensure that we can provide you with a tailored answer to your situation.
Thank you.
Hi,
Upon checking, I can see you have updated Cornerstone to latest version but forgot to update your theme.
Please note that these two should be updated simultaneously to avoid any incompatibility issues.
The latest version numbers are
X Theme 5.2.5
Cornerstone 2.1.7
Clear plugin cache and browser cache after updating.
Thanks
Ahh thanks Paul …
I’m afraid I’m at a loss to understand how to update the theme.
I got my purchase code from Envato …
Looking at my dashboard I can’t see anything that suggests updating X.
I can just see X Addons … which leads me to a bunch of logs …
Can you help /
Hi There,
Let’s perform a manual update at this time.
- Revoke your License from Wp Admin | X Section and also remove it from your license page on Themeco.
https://theme.co/apex/licenses
-
Temporary disable any caching plugins and purge all your server cache.
-
Delete both X theme (/wp-content/themes/x) and Cornerstone plugin (/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone) by connecting to your FTP (your settings will be saved in the database)
-
Download the latest copy of X and upload it to your themes folder via FTP OR you can upload the x.zip via Appearance -> Themes section.
-
Latest version of Cornerstone will be installed automatically when you head over X tab of your dashboard. Now you try validating your X theme again and then try to install any other extension and it should function properly.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
Hey …
Thanks for the info … just before I set about it … I found this on the forum, would this work too ?
Manual X Update Via FTP
Unzip x.zip on your computer.
Rename the x folder to x-updating.
Connect to your server via FTP and navigate to your /wp-content/themes/ directory.
Drag and drop the x-updating folder into your themes directory.
Upon completion, rename the previous x folder to x-previous.
Rename x-updating to x. Your site will now be at the latest version.
Delete the x-previous folder.
Visit the WordPress dashboard at least once to ensure any migration logic can run (this happens behind the scenes).
Many thanks
John
Hi There,
A few extra unnecessary steps there.
All your changes are stored in the database not on the theme files, please follow the instructions I provided previously.
Thanks
Hi There,
Surprisingly I just managed to update X theme, looks like I’m all update now.
Sadly the issue I had with my video not looping despite being ‘checked’ is still occurring.
Could you offer some other advice ?
Many thanks
John
Hi there,
Looks like the issue is between Vimeo embedded player and WP 4.9, I’m not just sure why but I saw this on other thread. Other videos like on youtube seem to be okay. But since this is part of revslider which is a bundled plugin, we can only forward this issue to the author for further checking. But we’ll do some checking too.
For now, you may downgrade your Wordpress back to 4.8.3
Thanks!
Thanks … I might switch to Youtube, you’re right it works better. Cheers
Glad to hear that
