Sidebar Menus with Collapsable Dropdowns

X Theme 5.1.1
WordPress 4.8.2 running X – Child Theme

As my site grows I have ever-expanding sidebar menus. The problem is the side bar menus do not collapse, so every menu items is displayed with its child element and sometimes child, child elements.

Is there a way to have collapsable sidebar menus?

Thanks Paul, that worked fine.

Considering how amazing X is I am amazed that this is not just a part of the Theme and that I have to deploy another plugin to get this functionality. We all know that the less plugins we have the better.

This ‘feels’ like a very basic and obvious requirement by today’s standards; I mean, imagine not having collapsable dropdown menus on the MAIN navigation??

Something on the development list maybe?
