Sidebar Keeps Getting Deleted

I tried looking through some of the other posts, but I could not find any solution to the problem I am having.

For some reason, my sidebar keeps getting deleted, not just disappearing, but deleted completely. I have a hunch that it has to do with updates to X-Theme, but I don’t know how to confirm or deny it.

This issue has been happening for a few months now, and it is costing me a lot in lost revenue.

My site is http://www.genyfinanceguy.com

Can you guys help me figure out why this keeps happening? And more importantly how to prevent it from happening in the future.

Thanks,

Dom

Hi Dom,

The sidebar seems to load fine on my end:

Could you please clear the cache and check again?

Thanks.

Thai,

I never got a notification that this was replied to, so sorry for the delay in my response. The reason you see it is because I keep adding it back manually. Any time I notice it is missing I copy and paste it back. I have no idea why the entire widget disappears.

Please help.

Dom

Hello There,

I have logged in and checked your site. I created a sidebar and attached it to one of your post. I could not replicate any issue. The sidebar were not deleted and displayed in your homepage.

When creating your sidebar, please do check your sidebar name. It must only contain alphanumeric characters. If the issue still exist in your end, please log out, clear our browser cache and test it again.

Please let us know how it goes.

It has disappeared yet again with the latest update. I don’t get why this keeps happening.

This and now my blog has disappeared (I submitted a separate ticket for this).

There could be a database process in your host or one of your third party plugins that is doing this everytime there is an update. I tried accessing your site using your previously given credentials but it doesn’t work anymore. Please give us the updated credentials and also FTP access.

Thanks.

See secure note for login credentials.

Also, I’m not sure how to provide you FTP access, can you please advise?

I think I figured out what you need for FTP access. See secure note.

Hi there,

Would you mind providing more details when this usually happen? Like the occurrence and what the last action did you do before this happens? This usually happens when you’re switching themes and it’s done by Wordpress itself. I like to know some details of the exact procedure on how to reproduce this issue as this works perfectly when every time we try, there could be a trigger.

Thanks!
