Sidebar encroaches on the whole page

hi, I have installed some demo content for my site from this demo… http://demo.theme.co/wedding/. When looking at the blog, the sidebar encroaches on the whole page, it covers the top menu and the blog posts. Is there a way so that the side bar appears under the header and next to the blog rather than on top of it. Hey Steve,

What you’re seeing is normal because the Wedding demo is based on the Icon stack and Icon’s sidebar is fixed. See http://demo.theme.co/icon-1/.

Regretfully, there is no way to modify it without drastic custom development which is outside the scope of our product support.

In case you really want to eliminate the sidebar, you might want to switch to another stack like Renew.

Hi, if i change to another stack, what effect will this have on the rest of the site?

It also seems odd that the sidebar is fixed, it cannot be minimised or even scrolled down, surely that’s not a decision you guys thought was the best for user usability?

Hello Steve,

Please understand that the theme provide stacks to have 4 different layout types to choose from. The Icon stack has a unique layout which features a fixed left sidebar or fixed right sidebar. If you do not want to have a fixed sidebar, please use Integrity, Renew or Ethos stack instead.

Hope this explains it briefly.

Yes, I see that, but a couple more questions before I proceed…

  1. why does my blog content go UNDER the sidebar (https://servicewash.co.uk/blog/), you cannot see the posts, they are covered by the sidebar, this is not how it looks in your example (`http://demo.theme.co/icon-1/).

  2. if I change the stack, can I change it back to the original stack and not lose any settings, layouts etc?

would you like a login so you can see my problem?

Thanks for updating in!

1.) Your page content is behind the sidebar because you did not set the sidebar width. Please go to X > Theme Options > Layout & Design > Sidebar Width and insert 250.

2.) If you change the stack, some of the theme options settings will be retained. You will lose a few option settings that are unique to that stack and it includes the layout if the stack has a different layout too. For example, the fixed sidebar layout in Icon will be replaced with a different sidebar style if you choose another stack. All the settings in X > Theme Options > Icon will be replaced with X > Theme Options > {other stack}.
