Show 6 sticky items in Essential Grid, but category select needs to be available

Hi There!

I’m trying to setup my Essential Grid as follows;
I want to have 6 standard posts shown when ALL Categories is selected. (At this moment I’ve made these 6 posts in 6 categories which I all made a sticky post) So no more than 6 visible posts…

Then when I select category 1, I want to show ALL posts in this category, So only the sticky post in this category + every other post in this category… same for category 2 and 3 etc…

I’ve added two quick drawings of what I want to achieve to clarify myself.

What is the best way to achieve this? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reaching out.

You mean displaying 1 post for each category (when all categories filter is selected) then display all posts once a specific category filter is selected? That’s not currently possible, the filter works on all items based on the source setting. But you could try contacting a developer for customization and see if it’s achievable.

Thanks for your reply. That is indeed what I wanted to achieve…

Maybe you could help me with another solution… How am I able to show maximum 6 posts, and then be able to click to a 2nd “page/tab” with 6 posts etc… I’ve tried different grid settings but couldn’t figure it out.

Hi @FerryTimmer,

Grid with pagination? You can do that using Essential Grid, I’ll demonstrate using screenshots :slight_smile:

  1. Unser source tab, make sure the max posts is set to -1, so there should be no actual limit

  1. Then on grid settings tab, please make sure the columns are 3, then rows max is 2 which makes them 6 items ( or 2 columns but 3 rows, works the same)

  1. Then on nav filter sort tab, drag the pagination to the position you preferred
