Shortcodes not Rendering with Latest Updates

Shortcodes are no longer rendering after performing all of the latest updates of the X Theme and plugins.

I was also having the issue where Cornerstone was blanking out all content, but that seems to have mysteriously gone away.

I want to provide credentials so you can login and look but do not see a way to add info to this thread privately.

Tell me how to get the info to you so you can look.

Hi there,

I’ve checked your site and it looks like most of it’s in Visual Composer. I’m not seeing any broken shortcodes right now. Could you point me to specific pages where you’re having the problem? Thanks!

Here is an example: https://www.ksagaviation.org/contact/

Also, there are some Formidable forms that don’t render shortcodes when the forms are sent out. It all worked perfectly prior to updates.

Will try and find some additional examples and add to the thread.

I just saw an update for the Cornerstone plugin come across. So, thinking it would possibly fix my issue, I updated it and am now getting 500 error on all admin pages.

I will restore from a backup, which will take about an hour to get through.

Hi there,

If you can provide FTP access, I can take a look at what’s going on with that 500 error as well. This would help us uncover the problem while it is present (if you’re ok holding off on restoring the backup).

Please go ahead and take a look. I haven’t had a chance to do anything yet.

There is an underlying issue also where 404 pages are getting shown for real pages that exist. For example, if you are logged into the admin (which isn’t possible until the 500 error is fixed) and you go to a front end page and click the EDIT PAGE in the admin bar, it will 404 error on you.

Lot’s of weird things going on. Thanks so much for your help!

I’ve got the WordPress admin details, but I would need FTP as well to see why the error is happening. Could you update your note to include that? Thanks!

See private info below:

Any luck on finding the problem here?

If not yet, when do you think you guys can look at it?

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the help…

Hi there,

Thank you for providing the FTP information. I checked the case and found out that for some reason the Envira Gallery is the cause for the Error 500. I am not sure if it is the gallery itself or one of the Envira gallery addons causing the issue.

The way I restored is that I went to wp-content/plugins folder via FTP and renamed the envira gallery folder there. That deactivated the plugin and now everything is working ok.

Now I suggest that you deactivate all addons of the gallery and try to activate the gallery to see if the problem is the gallery itself or one on the addons.

Regarding the Contact page, the problem was that the Contact Form 7 plugin was deactivated. I activated that and it is working ok now.

Thank you.

Thanks for your help on this. Envira Gallery support team reached out to your Dev Team and also provided code fix to resolve the problem.

Thanks again for the super great support from X Theme!

You’re most welcome.
