Shortcodes are still showing on the front end (unresolved issue)

Hellos!

I have the shortcodes showing on the front end of one of the posts and whatever you guys did (?) did not help resolve it.
(I did open the post in Cornerstone and saved a number of times).

Please refer to https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/shortcodes-showing-on-the-blog-summary-page/13505 for all the info. Credentials are the same. I now publsied the faulty post.

Cheers,

Irina

Hi Irina,

Can you try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes!

hi!
Do you mean plugins that didn’t come with X? I started disabling them one at a time when i noticed that one of you guys have been to the site and published the earlier created by you post for testing. It is still Published and I cannot unpublish it, it seems - the change will not be saved. I want that post to be removed since this is in fact my active site and the front page of it. #help

Hi There,

Try editing your posts and then set excerpt content to avoid this issue. Refer to the secure note.

Hope that helps.

Hi!

Thanks, the shortcodes in this post are gone (big step!) BUT

  1. How do I remove the unwanted on the page post Private: An X test? It’s still there!

  1. I know the excerpt used to be somewhere there but I cannot find it. went through all the arrows to open the content under (“Post settings” and “Ethos Settings”…) and none of them have the excerpt field.
I do use the SEO pack plugin where I also write an excerpt but that is for showing in the search, not on the website itself. But you found the filed there so how blind I must be…

So how can I get rid of 1) and where do i find the excerpt field? (I consider sticking to the native WP blog posts from now on though).
Thanks in advance,
I.

Oh, forget 1) - i see that it’s ticked as private is not visible for others. Sorry!

  1. Go to Screen Options in the upper right hand corner of the post editor and check the Excerpt checkbox.

Once done, you’ll see the Excerpt field.

Hope that helps.

Ah, found it, thanks! I was looking the level higher, not under the post editor settings.
Will write excerpts from now on and hope this helps to solve the problem. Thanks for the support!

I.

You’re most welcome.
