Shortcode shows up as plain text

I inserted the following code to get blog posts on my home page but it shows up as plain text and no posts are shown.What am I doing wrong?
[recent_posts count=“2”]
I guess any shortcode I put will not render the output it should.

Could you please provide us with your website URL so we can take a closer look?

I’ve checked the website URL in the secure note but couldn’t see any shortcodes in the home page.

The double quote is incorrect: [recent_posts count=”2″]

Could you please copy this shorcode instead?

[recent_posts count="2"]

If it doesn’t work, please provide us with your admin account so we can take a closer look.

Thank you for your reply. I checked my format. The syntax was fine. Also copied and pasted yours but it still comes up as plain text. I have provided the login details here. In pages, the page to be edited is Estates which is set as the main page.

Hi There,

Upon checking your website, I could see that you’ve renamed the X theme directory so the theme won’t work correctly.

I’ve also uploaded and install the freshnew X theme and the shorcode is working fine now.
