Shortcode in navbar or menu

I want to insert a shortcode either in or inline with x-navbar so that it appears inline with the main menu items (in place of the “sign up - sign in” item in the current menu. The site is https://sellingsmyrnatn.com

The shortcode is currently displaying in the topbar, but I don’t want it there or under the logo. It’s a menu, and the best place would be to appear as part of the menu.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! If you’re referring to the menu items in the Topbar, you can add it to your current menu using Custom Menu option under WordPress menus (Appearance -> Menus).

Hope that helps.
Thanks!

When I insert the shortcode [showcaseidx_nav] in the menu it just displays the shortcode as text.

Hi There,

Sorry for the confusion here, I mean you can add the menu items manually to your existing menu using Custom Menu option mentioned above.

Hope that’s clear.

Yes, I could add 3 of the 4 items, but the 4th (Sign in/Sign up) isn’t a page link, it triggers a popup. Is there a way to keep it all as a unit, but just display inline with the Menu? (appearing to take the place of the last current menu item)

Is there any way to force the menu to display the results of the shortcode?

Hi there,

You could try this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortcode-in-menus/

That should allow your shortcodes in your menu.

Thanks!

Interesting - thank you. I’ll give it a try.

Let us know how it goes!
