Shortcode doesn't work using Cornerstone but does work in Wordpress

I purchased the Simple Membership Member Directory addon which uses a shortcode to list all the site members on a page. I tried inserting the code in a Raw Content element and in a Text element and the data showed up in the Cornerstone editor but not on the actual page. However, when I insert the shortcode directly in Wordpress, everything works correctly.

Hello @GCA_2015,

Thanks for writing in! I suspect that the plugin shortcode is not supported in the Raw Content or Text element in the theme. This thread will be added to our issue tracker so that it will be looked into by our development team. I cannot make any promises relating to a fix at this stage. I will add a note to the tracker referencing your report though so our dev team can see there are multiple reports of the issue.

Please bear with us.

Thanks for looking in to it. I have one more question sort of related to this. I took over this website which was originally developed using Visual Composer. Since Cornerstone has been introduced, I’ve used that to build all the newer pages and I’ve been gradually redoing all the original pages with the goal of updating the website to Pro. The question I have is: will having a page coded with WordPress be a problem in an upgrade to Pro? (FYI, I’m not a professional coder but I’m thinking of updating to Pro because I want to play with the Grid element.)

Hi @GCA_2015,

By “page coded with WordPress” do you mean customization? Regretfully, we can not guarantee any custom coding to be compatible with PRO (or with any theme really), what will likely happen to that is, if the custom coding creates a conflict with PRO, then you need to do an adjustment on the custom coding or rewrite it entirely. There is also the possibility that it will not cause any trouble, it’s a 50-50 really.

Thanks,
