Short codes for membership access in cornerstone sections

The membership platform that I am using (Ontraport/Pilot Press) has short codes that will allow members to see content based on their membership level. I have it sorted out for each individual page I want to protect.

My question: is there a way to add these member level specific short codes to individual sections in a single page?

So in cornerstone/pro page builder section 1 would get a short code so that only members with access to level one could see that section. Section 2?

I’m trying to build a homepage for our different programs and I want people to be able to view the courses (membership levels) they have purchased, but not see the ones they haven’t.

Thanks for the help,

Olivia

Hi Olivia

I am pretty sure this cannot be done. It’s a bit of a frustrating for me too as I run membership sites using X and ActiveCampaign and InfusionSoft (Grrr…I HATE InfusionSoft ) It would be so easy to implement into Cornerstone if each Element had an optional field for an Openening and Closing TAG (something with surrounds each elemst code. We coul d them input these TAGS manually from whatever system we are using.

Resolution (I am doing this right now)
The rather long winded way to get around it is to set the page up as required in Cornerstone (which I love incidentally) then view the page, then view the source code and find and copy the HTML back into a RAW Elelment in Cornerstone and finally add you Opening and Closing TAGS. You can then either hide (just add the HIDE class to the Element or column) or delete the original Cornerstone Element. Of course you lose the Visual Editing capabilities in Cornerstone as its RAW HTML but…

A bit cumbersome and very annoying but it does work.

Think of the market theme.co would open up by including this feature as part of Cornstone!

Wishing you well.

Hey Olivia,

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully we do not have any feature that hides any content based on their membership level. It can only be done by custom development. Please be advised the custom development is way beyond the scope of our support. You might reach out to other source like a custom extension or with the Pilot Press plugin is they want to extend their shortcode and make it available for Cornerstone.

You can also try what @elanmedia has suggested. You can make use of the shortcode offered by the membership plugin you are using and insert it in a raw content. This may apply if you have a very simply layout. But since it takes away the visual editing, it would be difficult if the sections that you want to hide is too complicated.

@elanmedia:
Thanks for chiming in!

Hi RueNel

I am trying to understand why this is so difficult to include in Cornstone. There could be a switchable feature where each section/row/column/element could have custom tag/code surrounds - 1. an opening tag/code field 2. a closing tag/code field.

If the option is switched off in settings then these two fields do not appear to the Editor.

You’d open a big market for this.

Hi There,

This is not available because using complex setup, it is easy to get lost on the combination of tags. I’ve seen some who tried to use shortcodes(yes it is like using RAW CONTENT element), instead of the builder, they get back to us because of structure/styling errors and it turns out there’s mismatch shortcode of tag. Either the tag is added on wrong location or due to complex code some are missing.

I think this would work @elanmedia , it’s just one page where I list courses. Im trying to get it so that members only see the courses they own. The rest of my membership pages are protected by the plugin. Now I just have to figure out how to follow your instructions : ) I’m kinda a newbie with anything code related.

Hi There,

Thanks for updating in! Yes, please follow the suggestion of @elanmedia.
Please let us know how it goes.

Regards.
