Shop page not showing correct featured image

Hello!

Yesterday I set the featured image for my shop page, as well as a preview snippet for Google search + Facebook, but the image is still showing the default image for the entire website (which is not what I want).

Why is the featured image setting not working on this page?

Hi There,

I have inspected your site and I can see that there is no open graph image tag on the page. Please check the image below.

This could just be a caching issue. Since you have installed a caching plugin LiteSpeed Cache, please clear your plugin cache before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.

Thank you for looking into it.

Unfortunately I’ve now purged/disabled the cache, reset the featured and facebook images for the page and it still won’t show it.

So it seems that you did not set the options correctly. To make sure that you have complete control over the images when it comes to Facebook sharing I suggest that you go to X > Theme Options > Social and turn off the Open Graph feature:

Then, Install the Yoast plugin and set the image for the Facebook as mentioned below:

Also, you need to clear the cache and wait for few hours so that the Facebook can crawl and pick the latest changes.

Thanks for your attention Christopher but actually the Open Graph feature has been turned “OFF” on my site for a few months now. I disabled it when I installed YoastSEO.

Is there anything else I can try?

Hey @nboote,

The shop page does not have a featured image. Please try contacting Yoast SEO support if there’s a feature to set an image for the shop page.

Since the Open Graph in X is disabled, there’s no more functionality within the theme that can display or output Open Graph tags so you will need to look for third party solutions.
