Shop Page Header + Permalinks

Good morning,

I have had a lot of trouble with the headers on my site. In an effort to simplify and improve I am trying a new approach for the blog and shop index pages. The blog pages are working perfectly with their new header, but the new shop header (labeled “Intel: Navigation and Header”) will not save to the appropriate page.

I also noticed that the website’s permalink structure does not seem to be following the WP settings in place. Lots of files are being uploaded and organized by date, when the files should just be saving as the name. This is important because attachment pages don’t need all that extra data except for blog posts.

Thanks for reaching out.

May I know to which pages you’re assigning it? It seems to be working and it’s currently assigned to shop page ( Condo Intel ).

The media attachments should be in its own permalinks, but image URL will not, they will always be grouped by date and it’s Wordpress’s standard. It’s not related to permalink but a system’s default setup.

Hello,

I am assigning it to the shop page, but on my end it is not working: https://prnt.sc/k3fttk. If you open up the header I referenced to edit it, you will see a different setup.

Regarding the permalinks, I am not referring to images. I am referring to items in the media library such as https://denverhighriseliving.com/wp-content/uploads/woocommerce_uploads/2018/06/Lakehouse-Condo-Intel-Report.pdf. That is a crazy hyperlink, and shouldn’t be uploading that way based on the settings in place. Furthermore, what would be the best way to restrict those attachments so that people can’t use that direct link to access the digital products for sale?

About Shop Page Header:

I see exactly what you gave in the screenshot and that is exactly what the Intel: Navigation and Title header looks like. There is no Intel: Navigation and Header as you mentioned in the first question.

If you meant another header you need to give us more information exactly what you see in the Pro header builder and what you expect in the front end.

It is important that you make sure that you clear any possible cache on your WordPress installation and browser cache.

About Image URL:

As my colleague mentioned that is not part of our theme and it is a standard procedure of the WordPress and in this case, Woocomemrce plugin and our theme doe not have anything to do with that. You need to follow up with Woocommerce and WordPress support regarding that.

Thank you for your response, but I will kindly ask you to take another look and refer to the following screenshots. If I am wrong, please correct, but I believe there is still an issue here. I have cleared my cache and looked on multiple devices, and the header in the screenshot I provided is definitely not showing up correctly on the front end. See further details below:

  1. I misspoke and there is no Intel: Navigation and Header. Here is the list: https://prnt.sc/k3l54k.
  2. When you click on the header from the screenshot which is applied to the shop page (“Condo Intel”), you will see the page title “Groundbreaking News” displaying: https://prnt.sc/k3l4xl. While that title is properly displaying on the blog page, it should not be displaying here.
  3. This screenshot shows the header which has been designed for the shop page, but is not displaying there: https://prnt.sc/k3l56n. I have broken it down into three parts, as there is some customization I could use assistance with while we are on the subject of this header.
    a. First, you will notice the title and design which is not correctly displaying.Within that section is there a way to set the button to look activated for the corresponding page. The reports page is /condo-intel/ and the maps page is /condo-intel/. In other words, when on one of those pages can the corresponding button look highlighted?
    b. I would love the left margin to match the space below, but can’t figure out how it is controlled. I played with the margins to come close, but I would love to know how to set it to stay aligned with everything below.
    c. Ultimately, once this header is in place, I will want to float the products up into that space.

Hello There,

Thanks for updating in!

I can see that the shop header is displaying as it is intended to be at least on my end.

a.) The button is highlighting in the correct position and correct page. This is what I am seeing: http://prntscr.com/k3r8nh

b.) To have the same space on the left side, add the same amount of padding. Do no use mat margin because it will give empty spaces.

c.) You can not simply move up the products section because it will just be covered and behind the header.
