Hi, when I share blog posts from my site to facebook, it’s almost as if facebook is unable to read any of the text. I just switched from ICON to INTEGRITY, but before the change, facebook would show the first few lines of the blog post in the preview. Now it just shows “Comments, Comments” in the preview of the post. Please help

The issue seems to be caused by the URLs of the resources of you site still loading in http.
Kindly try to install the Better Search and Replace plugin then search for http://steffenharris.com and replace with https://steffenharris.com.
Please make sure to backup your database before making any changes.

It looks like Facebook is seeing 2 sets of open graph description on your site. Do you have an SEO plugin that offers to input an social open graph (e.g. Yoast Seo)? If so, please navigate to Theme Options > Social and turn OFF the Open Graph option. And let your SEO plugin handle it.
After you made the changes CLEAR all your caching plugins, and debug your site/posts here, so Facebook will fetch the new data on your site/posts.

That definitely helped bring the text back, but now it doesn’t pull a picture for the preview. Before this mess, it pulled an image, after clearing cache and debugging it shows the text preview. However, when I paste a blog post link in the debugging site, I get the attached error.
Why is it trying to pull the featured.jpg image? That’s not the image I had set as the featured image in the post.

I don’t see the error message you are getting on my end. Instead sharing is now working fine along with featured image. Please see screenshot.
