Several issues after updating to 10.0.3 of X and Cornerstone

Hello,

I updated to the new version of X and Cornerstone and my website has multiple issues.

I wanted to check with you first before trying to make any changes myself in hopes that there is an easy fix to get the website back to the way it was.

Here are some of the issues I noticed:

Section 2:
Parallax isn’t functioning the same as before and has duplicate text showing on live site which I don’t see in Cornerstone.

Section 3:
Photo and text seem to be duplicated below on the live site, but does not show up the same on Cornerstone.

Section 4:
Same situation. Everything seems to be duplicated and shows up differently on the live site.

Several things appear offset and are not functioning as before.

I accidentally updated Cornerstone first before noticing that there was also an update for the new version of X. Not sure if that may have been an issue, but I updated Cornerstone first and then X.

By the way, before reporting an issue to us, you need to narrow down the cause of the issue. Most issues are just caused by caching and 3rd party plugin conflicts. Please first do the following things applicable to your site and tell us if one fixed the issue(s).

  1. Testing For Plugin Conflict
  2. Css/Js Customization
  3. Disabling Cache
  4. In Cornerstone > Settings, clear the Style Cache

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I forgot the usernames. I’ve included them this time.

The items I listed are what I noticed after I had done the update. The cause of the issues is the theme update.

I tested the 4 items you recommended and none of them made a difference.

I did notice that my staging looks fine. I haven’t updated X in the staging site so you can look at it as a comparison to how the website should look and function.

It seems that the problem might be due to the improper update of the Cornerstone. I would suggest you updated the Cornerstone by following the below steps.

  1. Delete the existing Cornerstone.
  2. After deleting, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be the latest version.

If that does not help, please let us know for further investigation in your staging site by updating the X and Cornerstone.

Thanks for the recommendation. Ok, I deleted Cornerstone, re-installed it and cleared the cache. Unfortunately, that didn’t fix the problem. I would prefer not updating the staging site to the new version of X yet, since it is working correctly and can be used to compare to the broken live site which still has the issues described in the first message. Appreciate your help in solving this.

Hi George,

Please note that a few hours ago we have released another version of the theme with some fixes, I would recommend you update your theme to the latest one. I would also suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the theme.

  1. Delete the existing Cornerstone.
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates.
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be the latest version.

And after that Please check once by clearing the Style Cache from Cornerstone > Settings > System > Clear Style Cache and check in the incognito/private mode of the browser.

Please let us know if that does not resolve your problem.

I updated the theme and cornerstone as instructed above. It doesn’t make a difference. The problem still exists. Can you help?

Hi George,

I have checked your home page again and didn’t find the duplicated content anymore. If you are still seeing that, I would suggest you check once by clearing all types of cache including the Style Cache from Cornerstone > Settings > System > Clear Style Cache and check in the incognito/private mode of the browser.
