Setup website after downloading backup from https://host.theme.co/

Hi guys,
I’ve hosted my website with https://host.theme.co/.
Unfortuantely I couldn’t move the site earlier. So I only the available backup which contains

  • Database
  • Wordpress files

Can anybody help me how to continue from here to put this page up with a different hoster?

Regards,
Peter

Hi @petermayerla,

Thanks for posting in.

About this, I encourage you to contact us through hosting support tickets as not all of us could handle hosting related issues.

And for the meantime, you could check this guide https://css-tricks.com/moving-a-wordpress-site/.

I like to help but I couldn’t or not allowed to get your backup files due to privacy concern. You should keep your data safe and unreachable from other people. My other recommendation is contacting your new host and let them import the database and upload the files since your data will be kept by them and it should be an easy job for them

Then once imported and uploaded, they can change the wp-config.php to match the new database credentials. Then login to your Wordpress site and install Better Search Replace plugin, and replace all instances of example.com/wp-content/ URLs to your new URLs. Of course, you should replace it with you real URL instead of example.com. And you’re done

The important part is the database import, file upload, and wp-config.php changes.

Thanks!

Hello Rad,
thanks for your reply.
I already uploaded it to my new hosting service.
I get the " Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access / on this server." message.
The database credentials should change because I upload the old sql dump right?
I will go through your material, I word with better search replace before…

Regards,
Peter

Hi @petermayerla,

Have you imported the database too? In that case, please let me know the following information

  1. Database login credentials
  2. FTP login credentials
  3. Admin login credentials

You don’t need to provide the backup since they are already uploaded and imported, just need to connect them together.

About the error Forbidden, it could be due to security so I recommend contacting your new hosting provider too. If it’s blocking the process then we can’t connect them together.

Thanks!

Hi There,

I was unable to login to the https://www.campusspeicher.de/login/ website.

Could you double check?

Thank you.

I did and corrected the credentials for that…

Hi @petermayerla,

Could you please point the nameservers of the yourinspiration.de domain to Campusspeicher hosting so we can verify if the configuration and database are correct?

It still points to our hosting now.

Thank you.

Hi @petermayerla,

Sorry for the confusion, that’s just changing your DNS. It will have no effect since your domain nameservers are still pointing to us.

Please contact your domain registrar and have your domain pointed to these nameservers.

ns1.campusspeicher.at
ns2.campusspeicher.at

It’s based on your hosting account, if it’s wrong then you may need to contact your hosting provider to get the correct ones. Your domain isn’t registered on us so we have to control over nameservers and it’s on Amazon.

Thanks!

OK I changed the dnS already 2? Days ago.

Can you check again please. It should be changed now.

Hi There,

Your website http://yourinspiration.de/ is up and running right now.

It seems the DNS has propagated successfully.

Can you confirm on your end?

Thanks.
