I added the # hashtag to the ID of the section and have deleted the menu items and replaced them with the custom field and followed https://theme.co/docs/set-up-one-page-navigation, What I am not understanding is how to then make my main page reflect the top level sections of my top menu.

It seems that you have added the #id link in the menu, but didn’t added the id to the section which need to shown. I would suggest you to go though article specifically the section where it mentioned how to set ids to the sections: https://theme.co/docs/set-up-one-page-navigation#how-to-setup-sections-for-one-page-navigation-in-a-page

Now I have resolved the One Page Navigation issues with your advice, How then can I put an anchor on each section that will scroll and reflect to the sub-item’s in the menu? Can I link the sub-items to Rows so they are with-in the section the top level items link two (since you can’t have a section inside a section) or is there something else I need to do.

You can assign the IDs to the Rows in the same way you’ve assigned IDs to the section that should work as well. Make sure the hashtag (#) that you used as the links of the sub menu items matches with the IDs of the Rows.

I understand the way to get the links to goto another section on the page but how can I get multiple sections to be horizontal rather than under each other so the user will be able to click to see the next section in that area of the page.

Regretfully there isn’t any feature in the theme or builder that can make the rows as a slide. It may be possible with custom development which is beyond the scope of our support already. This particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it.
