Set opacity of an image based on ScrollY

I am trying to set the opacity of an image depending on how far the user has scrolled down. The opacity should be set dynamically i.e. it should change as the user scrolls up or down on the page. Any suggestions on how to do that?

Thanks for writing in! You will need a custom Javascript that monitors the scroll events of the page. Regretfully, this particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it. As such, you will need to investigate this particular issue on your own or seek help from a developer should you not feel comfortable making these changes yourself.
