Serialized Data

I am having trouble when migrating from my dev to production server. Seems to be an issue with some of the data being “serialized”. This breaks our workflow for migration. I understand you recommend using a plugin like Duplicator but that breaks our workflow and disrupts our ability to simply push changes to our production server.

Workflow’s look like:

  1. Developer makes changes on the dev server to files or in cornerstone and pushes to the production server
  2. Editor creates new post on the dev server and then uses a script to push to the production server

What are your recommendations for this?

pls see logo in upper left for example of image url being serialized and not properly updated… this happens even after using a plugin like Better Search and Replace

Hi,

The image url is actually not serialized but is pointing to your dev url

When deploying to live you need to make sure that the urls get’s updated with the live url.

Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.
